Getting to Know Me

Me:

My name is Morgan, I am a 34 year old Celtic Green Witch with a hint of Japanese Shinto Ways. I am witch, I am lesbian, I am a wife and I am a mother of two. I am a student, studying to get my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology (I want to work with HIV/AIDS patients in the GLBT community). I love to read, write, cook, sing and spend time with my family and friends. I like the beach and I love water (funny since I am an earth sign), I dislike the rain when it rains for 9 months out of the year. I am not overly fond of snow for long periods of time, but I don’t mind it on occasion, it is very pretty. Really I like pretty mild climates. I like it about 70 degrees with a nice light breeze, that is slightly warm, and sunny skies. I know that it is hard to find that all of the time but I can dream, can’t I?

Chosen Magickal Name:

I was thinking about it one day and the name Asia (pronounced Ozia, like the actress Asia Sargento) Rayvon came to me and it felt right. It felt like it was meant to be my ‘magickal’ name or my ‘Wiccan’ name however you’d like to look at it. So, since I am pretty much a solitary witch I chose this name for myself versus having someone initiate me and choose a name for me. Also, this way I know I like the name. Basically the name chose me.

Definitions:

Celtic Wicca: Goes by the elements, the Ancient Ones and nature. They are usually healers or respect them highly. They work with plants, stones, flowers, trees, the elemental people, the gnomes and the fairies.

Green Witch: A Green Witch is simply a practitioner of natural magic. Green Witches use nature’s gifts of flowers, plants and herbs for medicinal and magical purpose. They make brews and potions and perform magical rituals and spells for the benefit of themselves and others – with harm to none.

Shinto: Shinto is an ancient Japanese religion. Starting about 500 BCE (or earlier) it was originally “an amorphous mix of nature worship, fertility cults, divination techniques, hero worship, and shamanism.” Its name was derived from the Chinese words “shin tao” (“The Way of the Gods”) in the 8th Century CE.

Solitary Witch: This is one who practices alone, without a coven etc.. following any tradition.

You put these together and you have me. My sister once told me, ‘make your own religion. Take what works for you out of all the religions and put them together until you have something that is yours and works for you.’ And that is basically what I have done. I believe there is a God(s) out there but I also believe there is a Goddess(es), because there has to be balance in everything if not you have chaos.

I guess that is about it for me.

My Wife:

My wife is Andrea aka Andee. She is 30, a Spiritual Atheist, lesbian as you guessed, and the love of my life. She is the step mother to my son (who is from a former relationship), and the mother or as she liked to be called Aya to our daughter (who we conceived [I carried her] through artificial insemination.). Andee is a student getting her Associates in Welding Technologies in hopes of going to Oregon State University (OSU, go BEAVERS!) to get a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. She likes to play World of Warcraft on the PC as well as play games on the XBox 360 and our PS2. She is a very well rounded person and can do anything she sets her mind to. Most of all she is a wonderful, bright, intelligent person who makes my world a better place just by being in it. I love Andee so much, she is my soulmate and the person I was meant to be with.

My son:

My son is Michael Roland or as some of his friends call him Mika (he also chose this for his baby sister to call him). He is 14 years old and from a former relationship, Michael is also a freshman.  He is  your typical 15 year old boy; he is interested in girls…girls…food…girls…hanging out with his friends…girls…food…sleep…girls…anyway, you get the picture. Oh, and he likes cars, movies and making odd inventions that no one really understands but him.  He lives with his Dad but comes to visit every other weekend and I think he will be staying with us come summer, at least until school starts again. I love him to death but I just don’t love everything that he does at this point in life…you know all those stupid teenage things and the attitude.

My Daughter:

My daughter is Brooklyn Evan Rae, yup she has two middle names. She was born October 22nd, 2009. She was conceived through artificial insemination, and the insemination worked on the first try. She is a wonderful little girl and I am so happy I had her. She is my second child and my wife’s first. I was the one who was pregnant with her, we made that decision together because I loved being pregnant with my son, however this pregnancy was NOTHING like her brother’s. Right now she is content with playing with her toys, her favorites are a stuffed bear that her Grandma Kim got her, a stuffed dog that her Grandma Kim got her and a taggy blanket and block that my Mom made her. She is learning to eat baby food and baby cereal and she also has her bottles (as you can see from the picture). She rolls over really well and is trying to learn to crawl. She is a wonderful little girl and I love her like nothing else in my life. I don’t know what I would do without her.

Well I guess that really is all now. I currently do not have any pets as we live in an apartment. We tried having a dog here, but she was a big dog and it just didn’t work out.
